Growing up where I did, Super-Gran, this lad, and Superted were the super heroes you grew up with.
No wonder most UK writers spend a lot of their careers in the US throwing shade at even the concept of the American super hero...
Also, this book and the second volume are in store now!

When I were a lad, he'd be making fun of the Beano. I was quite heartened last summer. I put a Bananaman question in a quiz for the Explorers on camp. Quite a few got it, there's still hope for this generation.
